National
Science Day
National Science Day is celebrated on the 28th
February 2014 to commemorate the invention of the ‘Raman Effect’ by Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, the noted physicist.
As a mark of respect for Sir C.V. Raman, Orchids
organized a special programme in which some students of classes V to IX
conducted different experiments to demonstrate the various principles of
science that make the subject interesting.
It was followed
by a very enthusiastic debate by some students of classes VIII and IX in which
they argued on the topic, ‘Is technology a boon or bane in the modern era’.
It was altogether a very lively presentation and discussion.
