On September
1, 2012 the students of Class VI to X were taken on a field trip to Shirdi
Sai Old Age Home situated in Miyapur.
The home has 30 rooms and, presently, has 72 people residing there. The home also has another branch in
Yadagirigutta that is spread out on a 1 acre campus.
The students initiated the interaction when Sri
Brahmi of Class IX sang a song. Some of the residents showed their enthusiasm
by singing Telugu songs. The students were then taken for a tour of the campus
and interacted with some of the people who were bed ridden but full of
enthusiasm. They showed concern and felt
a lot of empathy towards the residents.
The students of the school donated rice, pulses and
sugar to the home. It was altogether a real learning experience for all the
students who were able to spend some time with the elderly people who were not
related to them in any way.
